Spring outlook: the season of home renovations

With spring officially just a few short weeks away, and the weather finally starting to show signs of warming, so begins another season filled with activity for the typical homeowner. Like many at this time of year, you may be looking at your home this spring with goals of completing some upgrades and renovations.  Whether you are thinking of selling your home, are looking to purchase a fixer-upper, or just want to make changes to your home for your own enjoyment, there are some essential things to remember when planning any home improvement project to ensure the best overall experience.

The first thing to remember, whether you are planning on selling your home or not, is that kitchen and bathroom renovations typically reap the most rewards when it comes to increasing your home’s value. If done correctly, completing remodels to these areas of the home can provide the highest return on investment. These are also the two rooms of the home that often get the most use, so updating them by installing new fixtures, creating custom tiling, or just adding a fresh coat of paint can easily transform even the most outdated kitchen and bathrooms to design masterpieces!

Of course the spring season is also a great time to begin working on the exterior of your home and getting started on landscaping and overall curb appeal. Planting flowers, fixing cracked driveways, and painting your home’s exterior are all great places to start.
